Our Vinsol® family of resins has been sold commercially for nearly 80 years and is the industry standard for concrete air entrainment and asphalt emulsification.
Concrete air entrainment. Vinsol enables microscopic air bubbles to be uniformly dispersed throughout the concrete matrix—providing a multitude of advantages. Vinsol® resin is the recognized market leader for air entrainment.
When neutralized and used as a concrete admixture, Vinsol® resin markedly improves plasticity and workability, as well as the durability and weathering resistance of concrete.
Additional time-proven benefits include:
- Improved water retention and cohesiveness of mortar--effectively eliminating separation and bleeding of water
- Lower water-cement ratios provide high cost-effectiveness
- Also available as a convenient pre-neutralized resinate that is easily dissolved in water for dry mortar and cement mixes (Vinsol® NVX resinate)

Asphalt emulsions. The asphalt typically used in highway construction is a solid or semi-solid material that is converted to a liquid before it can be applied. This can be done by either melting the asphalt with heat, dissolving it in a solvent, or preparing a water-based emulsion.
Pinova provides the ultimate solution for anionic asphalt emulsions. Neutralized Vinsol® resin is relied upon worldwide as a highly effective anionic emulsifier for water-based applications of asphalt/bitumen. Road restoration is an especially important application for Vinsol® resin. Vinsol® is used in slow-set (SS-1 type) anionic emulsions, and can also be used in selected medium-set (MS) types. Vinsol-containing emulsions are known for their stability and uniformity.
