Rosin resins

Rosin’s unique structure makes it a very versatile, functional material in a wide variety of applications. Pinova® Ester Gum 8BG is a highly effective weighting and clouding agent for citrus-flavored beverages. Stabilized rosin esters of the Pexalyn® family of resins are cost-effective tackifiers for hot-melt adhesive systems. Adducted rosin esters are used in inks and coatings where they provide pigment-wetting ability, adhesion, gloss, and hardness.
Hydrogenated rosin derivatives
Partially hydrogenated rosin resins have good initial color and oxidation resistance, and excellent compatibility in hot melt, solvent, and emulsion based adhesives. Staybelite® Ester 10 and Pentalyn® H synthetic resins are especially recommended for high performance PSAs based on elastomeric solvent systems.
Highly hydrogenated rosin resins have exceptionally light color and outstanding resistance to oxidation and discoloration, and are versatile tackifiers for pressure sensitive and hot melt adhesives. Foral® 85 synthetic resin is particularly effective in tackifying solution acrylic PSA formulations.
Specialty resins
Specialty rosin resins include products of the Vinsol® family, which are proven in construction applications including asphalt emulsification, concrete air entrainment, and mastic adhesives.
